Sorry for the mess in the garageno, not sorry. Its work in progress. We are undergoing a home renovation. Im lucky to have found space in there to work!!!We bought a pre-owned Thomasville 7 piece, rolling club chair, dining room set from Habitat for Humanitys ReStore Store, in Jenks, Oklahoma last month. Other that a few nicks and rubs, the set was in great shape. And we need more room for a family of six! This is a perfect set for our kitchen. We soon found out that the wheels on the chairs are a bit suspectThe original dual sided, plastic disc wheels on the six chairs were falling apart, bit by bit. I thought at first it was maybe dirtbut no, it was plastic, falling apart off the wheel. Those wheels needed replacing. I was forever sweeping up bits and pieces of plastic wheel after a meal, several times a day.We found these ball wheels in bronze, which match the original color on the housing on the replaced wheels, and we snagged the six sets of four wheels per box here on Amazon, and we were ?? very happy! These are very sturdy wheels. I ordered these on 4/10/22 and they arrived on 4/13/2022.I immediately set about fixing the chairs. I took the time to tighten each of the bolts and screws on the chairs as I worked on them. And why not? These kind of chairs take a beating just rolling around and being sat on, and since I already had them flipped over, it just made sense to tighten up all the joints. There are no instructions on HOW to install these, but it is pretty straightforward. So, I pulled out the old wheels, which came out with their metal sleeves. The new metal sleeves have a sawtooth design, meant to grip the wood. I inserted the new metal sleeves and GENTLY tapped them in place. Then I inserted the stem of each wheel into the sawtooth metal sleeve and gently tapped that into place. GENTLY! Dont mash them into place, as there are no extra pieces in these boxes! The metal sleeve will bite into the wood chair legs, and once you tap the wheel into place, the wheel stem will snag the tip of the sawtooth metal sleeve. Between the weight of your body when you sit and gentle tapping, the wheel will engage with the metal sleeve and the sawtooth will go into the wood.It took me about 40 minutes to do the six chairs. And the wheels roll around really well! I am pleased and love the fact I have reused a great dining set!
